LayUp was built by two mates in London who got annoyed by how hard it was to (a) find sport to play in London, and (b) the number of separate accounts you needed just to book it. That second one’s still a pain — we’re working on it.
Every borough runs a different website. Every leisure centre uses a different platform. Finding a free court, pitch or lane meant opening five apps, creating five accounts, and still not knowing whether the slot was actually open. We got tired of it, so we built the thing we wanted: one search across every major London provider.
Today LayUp brings live availability from all of them into one place. You search once, compare across venues, and tap through to book at the provider — at their own price, with no booking fee from us. It’s the finding-a-game problem, solved.
The accounts problem is the one we haven’t fully cracked yet. For most venues you still finish the booking on the provider’s own site, with their login. Letting you book everything directly through LayUp — one account, one checkout — is exactly what we’re building next.
