How to Book a Padel Court in London (2026): The Complete Platform Guide
2 April 2026
London padel is fragmented. Courts are split between two booking platforms — Playtomic and Matchi — and there's no single place to search both at once. This creates a problem: you look on Playtomic, see nothing available, and assume all courts are full. Meanwhile, Matchi has slots you never found.
This guide explains how the London padel booking system actually works, when slots release, and how to stop missing out.
The two platforms: Playtomic and Matchi
Almost every London padel court is booked through one of two platforms:
Playtomic is the larger of the two globally and covers the majority of independent London venues — Rocks Lane, Padel Box Bermondsey, Social Sports Society, Georgians Padel, Padel4Everyone, and most leisure-centre padel.
Matchi is used by the Game4Padel group — the largest single padel operator in London, with venues at Crystal Palace, Coldharbour, Wandsworth, Vauxhall, Heathrow, and Southall. G4P venues are exclusively on Matchi.
| Platform | Typical venues | Booking app |
|---|---|---|
| Playtomic | Independent clubs, Rocks Lane, Padel Social Club, Padel Box | Playtomic app |
| Matchi | Game4Padel (all venues) | Game4Padel / Matchi app |
The key issue: Playtomic and Matchi don't share inventory. Checking one means you've missed the other entirely.
Other booking platforms in London
A smaller but growing number of London padel venues use neither Playtomic nor Matchi. These require separate apps or websites to book and are not currently searchable via LayUp.
| Platform | Venues | How to book |
|---|---|---|
| Padel Mates | Padium Canary Wharf (E14), Rocket Padel Battersea (SW8) | Padel Mates app |
| Royal Parks | Hyde Park Padel (W2), Regent's Park Padel (NW1) | sportsandleisure.royalparks.org.uk |
| Park Sports / ClubSpark | Lammas Park Ealing (W13) | parksports.co.uk |
Padel Mates is used by Padium (9 courts at Canary Wharf, the largest padel facility in East London) and Rocket Padel (4 courts at Battersea Power Station). Both are premium venues with a distinct high-end experience.
Royal Parks took over management of their padel courts in February 2026. Hyde Park (1 court) and Regent's Park (2 courts) are bookable via the Royal Parks sports and leisure site. Slots release at 7am, 7 days ahead — the same window as Playtomic and Matchi venues.
Park Sports / ClubSpark covers a handful of park-based outdoor courts, including Lammas Park in Ealing. These are typically the most affordable options in their area.

When do slots release?
Every London padel venue — regardless of platform — releases slots exactly 7 days in advance, typically at midnight UTC. This applies to both Playtomic and Matchi venues.
In practice: if you want to play on Friday evening, the slot becomes available the previous Friday at midnight. The most popular times (Friday and Saturday evenings, weekend mornings) book out within hours of release.
Members get earlier access. Some venues offer membership tiers that unlock 10-day advance booking. Padel Box Bermondsey's £30/month membership gives 10-day advance access — useful if you consistently play at one venue.

How to be first when slots open
The typical advice — "check at midnight" — works but isn't realistic for most players. More practical strategies:
Set Playtomic alerts. The Playtomic app lets you set notifications for specific venues and times. You'll get a push notification when a slot matching your criteria opens. This is the single most effective tool for securing popular slots.
Book at 7:00–8:00am. Most slots release at midnight UTC, but many venues stagger their availability by starting time — slots for an 8am court on a given day may appear at 8am 7 days earlier. Checking in the morning often catches these.
Use Thursday for Friday planning. The 7-day release means Thursday morning covers the following Thursday. More relevantly, it means Monday is the right day to start watching Friday evening availability.
Check both platforms. A court that looks unavailable on Playtomic may have open slots on Matchi, or vice versa. LayUp searches both simultaneously.
Price comparison: Playtomic vs Matchi
Per court per session · 28 London venues · April 2026
Playtomic
More venues, bigger price range. Outdoor clubs, leisure-centre padel, and independent venues. Best value off-peak.
Matchi
Used by Game4Padel, the largest operator in London. Premium indoor courts. Higher baseline price, less peak surge.
Prices are per court per 60–90 min session. Divide by 4 for per-person cost.
Matchi venues (predominantly Game4Padel) are more expensive on average, with prices set per 60-minute session. The G4P premium reflects large purpose-built indoor facilities with changing rooms, cafés, and multiple courts.
Playtomic venues cover a wider range — from £20/court at Social Sports Brent Cross in early morning slots to £101/court peak at Padel Social Club Earls Court. Off-peak Playtomic options offer some of the best value in London.
Important context: Matchi prices listed are per court for the whole session. Playtomic prices vary more and sometimes list per-player rather than per-court. When comparing, always check whether you're looking at a per-court or per-player price.

Frequently asked questions
Which platform should I use for padel in London? It depends on where you want to play. If you're targeting Game4Padel venues (Crystal Palace, Vauxhall, Wandsworth, Heathrow), you need Matchi. For most other London clubs, use Playtomic. LayUp searches both at once.
Do I need separate accounts for Playtomic and Matchi? Yes. They're separate platforms with separate accounts, payment methods, and notification systems. Most London players who book regularly have both.
Can I cancel or reschedule a padel court booking? Cancellation policies vary by venue. Playtomic typically allows cancellation up to 24 hours before the slot for a full refund, though some venues have stricter policies. Check the venue's terms when booking.
Why can't I find any evening slots? Evening slots (17:00–20:00) are the most competitive in London. They release at midnight 7 days before and fill within a few hours on popular nights. Check early in the week for next week's evenings, and consider morning or lunchtime alternatives — they're often available same-day.
Is there a way to get notified when a cancelled slot opens up? Playtomic has a waitlist feature for some venues. The most reliable method is setting a venue alert in the Playtomic app — you'll be notified when new slots are added or cancellations occur.
The bottom line
London padel booking works, but it requires knowing the system. Two platforms, one release window (midnight, 7 days ahead), and high demand for evening slots means the players who book reliably are those who understand where to look and when.
LayUp searches Playtomic and Matchi simultaneously — no switching between apps, no missed availability.
